Section 15 of the South African Firearms Control Act (FCA) allows individuals to obtain a license for occasional hunting or sport shooting purposes. This license allows for the ownership of a limited number of firearms, primarily manually operated handguns, rifles, or shotguns
 
License for Occasional Use:
Section 15 is designed for individuals who engage in hunting or sport shooting infrequently, not as a primary occupation. 
Firearm Limitations:
A person can hold a maximum of four firearm licenses under Section 15. This can be a mix of handguns (not fully automatic), rifles, or shotguns (not fully or semi-automatic).
